Hands Up For Peace - A campaign set up by a group of students from North London aimed at expressing the opinions of young people on the war in Iraq. HUFP ran from January 2003 to July 2003 when it was re-launched by a smaller group of the original founders as Hands Up For.
Hands Up For - HUF aimed to promote the engagment of young people in politics, campaigning, protest and activism while also reaching out to existing organisations and parts of Government and the media to make sure that they actively involved young people. HUF ran from August 2003 to June 2005 when it was forced to close due to the increased workload of the steering committee.
Disclaimer: The above actions are collaborations with others and do not reflect the current working practices or views of Hands Up. While HU builds on some of my own work from within these groups, this site does not claim to represent the views or input of those young people involved in co-founding or running either HUFP or HUF. In order to maintain continuity with the ethos of my past work, and to keep in contact with young people and organisations who helped us in the past, Hands Up has retained some branding from my past work but must be viewed as a seperate and personal organisation. If you wish to find out more about the organisations above, either email me or Google the other co-founders as I have no authorisation to pass out their current contact details.
