The Northwest Sustainable Development Framework - details the Northwest England’s framework for a sustainable development. Includes integrated appraisal toolkit for conducting sustainability appraisals.

Eco-Schools - 'Eco-schools' is a programme run by ENCAMS to promote environmental awareness in schools. Schools can apply for an Eco-school award, which is recognised throughout Europe.

Global Action Plan - Support schools who want to make a big difference to how they run - includes case studies of schools that have become more sustainable

Waste Watch - Waste watch is a national charity, which promotes the reduction, reuse and recycling of rubbish. The 'schools and kids' section in this website provides lessons and interactive learning bits.

Waste Wise (Australia) - The Waste Wise Schools Programme is an initiative from Eco Recycle Victoria (Australia). It was set up to help Australian schools reduce waste and litter. There are sections for teachers and children - take a look and see how they learn about rubbish down under!

Collect4School - Collect4School is a scheme that encourages schools to collect used printer cartridges, which they can send to the Collect4School Recycling Centre. These are sorted and either remanufactured or recycled for their plastic. Schools are paid for the cartridges they send in that can be remanufactured.

Council for Environmental Education - The Council for Environmental Education (CEE) provides a national focus in England for those committed to education for sustainable development. CEE brings people together to address issues of common interest.

ANPED (Northern Alliance for Sustainable Development)
Links NGOs and voluntary organisations in all parts of the Northern hemisphere. They work to promote sustainable societies worldwide by supporting grassroots activity.

London University Halls of Residence Recycling Project
London's University Halls of Residence Recycling Project aims to increase recycling, encourage reuse and raise awareness of waste reduction amongst the student population living in halls of residence in London. The project covers all 33 London Boroughs, 39 London universities and 164 halls of residence. The project is managed by the Greater London Authority in partnership with CRISP and funded by the London Recycling Fund.
